His Actual name is Brother Joel Smith and he's the quintessential freedom fighter. When listening to this brother speak, I can't help but notice all the factual intel that he uses during regular conversation. It's like hanging out with a history teacher that majored in Pan African studies.
During my interview with him he was dropping knowledge about the history of the K.K.K, as it pertain to Akron Ohio. Also he was taking about how the current view of slavery needs to be challenged based on what he calls historical facts and intel. It was then That I thought I heard him say something about eating pork. So I asked him (just to be clear). I said "Brother Did I hear you say that you eat pork" and his reply was "only in the morning".
I then asked him why. He replied with the most interesting response that I'd every heard from a so-called conscious individual. His answer was...."hell we have to fight these beasts (meaning the police and the powers that be) everyday-so I need to have a little beast inside me so when it's time to take it to a beast level with these mother f#ckas, I'll be ready"
I thought that was the funniest response ever but I'd be lying if it didn't have me thinking like "what the hell then, pass me the salami.... lol.. Until next time have some fun and get something done.
