Many people always ask me who do I think is the best in the rap game. I always make sure that I really understand exactly what the question really is. In short they could be talking about the best of all time. The best female rapper. The best rap group or even the best record label and or click. Again I always try to really understand what the person is really asking me. Because in all honesty I could go on and on about these type of topics forever. So even though I bought up all of these different topics and genres, I will narrow it down to who's hot right now July 2015. Remember the question is who do I like that is currently making noise or as we put it in the business "charting"
The first person that I feel that is doing it the way that I like it is Kendrick Lamar. Not only is he the games best rapper/Mc but he also makes relevant music that people can relate to. If you don't get where he's coming from on his latest project titled To Pimp a butterfly, all you have to do is let yourself go. Meaning, put up all of you preconceived notions of what rap has become or what it is today and allow Kendrick to take you in a new direction. In all honesty, the direction that he currently embarking on is paved with the footprints of Hip Hop's greatest Mc's. His new song and video titled Alright has everything that made Rakim, KRS-One and Public Enemy so loved. And that's originality, conscious subject matter and the balls to say what needed to be said. All in all Kendrick Lamar is the truth as a rapper and now that he's spitting truth in his music I would say that he's the truth as a man. With that being said I think that I need to just showcase on rapper at a time so that they can get their proper shine. So stay connected with me cause I will be doing part 2 and 3 in the near future.
