Akron's Black Community Leaders Speaks Out

Sometimes during your lifetime, a very important moment in history occurs. Most people will never admit it but our country, government, and police departments have been making history for all of the wrong reasons. The main reason as far as I’m concerned is police brutality. I know that police brutality has been going on for years in the African American community but it seems to have gotten worse over the past 10 years.

During this current state of pandemic/coronavirus, one would think that crimes like police brutality would be trending downward. As you already know, police brutality is definitely trending upwards. Within the last month/30 days, the African American community has been under attack (AGAIN) by the same police departments that supposed to be protecting and serving us.

Due to the recent events that take place in Minneapolis (as it pertains to “our” beloved brother George Floyd) not only that city but multiple cities across the country are protesting and rioting. I reached out to some of our city officials and community leaders to see if they had a positive word for our beloved city that I call BLAkron Ohio aka Akron Ohio. Please check out my conversations with Councilwoman Tara Mosley Samples, Councilman Russ Neal, The President of (The Akron’s) NAACP Judy Hill, Nation of Islam’s Minister Stephen Muhammad, and Summit County Councilwoman District 5 Veronica Sims. Also, I would like to thank them all for their time and conversations which they wanted me to share with the community. With that being said please check out the video posted below. Until next time, Have some fun and get something done.
