One of the best eateries in town (BLAkron Ohio) is no other than Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken located at 61 E. Waterloo Rd 44319. As you may have guessed, Louisiana’s is independently owned by an African American who considers himself a true Akronite. The great thing about the owner is his commitment to the city and the African American community. One of the “dopest” things about the restaurant is the number of people that are employed there. The owner, whose name is Melvin Ellis told me last year that "one of his biggest accomplishments was to help out or make an impact on those who needed a second chance at employment & life".
With that being said, most of “our” community’s black-owned businesses didn’t get the promised financial help that was suggested and put forward by "our" government. That is why we need to financially support these types of businesses more than ever. If we don’t, great places like Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken (that’s making a positive impact in the community) will ultimately suffer.
