E.J and Billy Fit
One of the “dopest” things that took place this summer was The Park East Community Concert Series. For those that are not familiar with the term “Park East” it’s the area/neighborhood where Chanel Wood is located. Recently, with the help of councilwoman Margo Summerville, the community received somewhat of a makeover.
The makeover
was not only a physical one (with improvements and positive additions) it was
also to boost up the mural and to provide unity in the community. Talking to one of
the brotha’s that’s partially responsible ( who’s referred to as simply E.J.)
said that they wanted to provide a non-threatening family-friendly event. These
events turned out to be concerts literally in the back of the high-rise at
Chanel Wood.
It’s a
breath of fresh air to know that someone/ organization (Alpha Phi Alpha)
thought that much about the Park East Community to not only build a pavilion
but to book community-based concerts for not only the neighborhood to enjoy but
the city of BLAkron as a whole. Please check out the videos posted under this
article. Until next time, have some fun and get something done.
