The show started out with Mary J.Blige doing her thing looking pretty youthful singing some of her classic hits. I thought this was a good way to make Mary a little more relevant to today's young fan. Then My man , the host of the show Kevin Hart came out doing a step routine complete with little people, which made it very funny. Then he tore the house down with his no holds bard approach-making fun of almost everybody during his opening which continued throughout the program. Then Rick Ross, Dj Khaleed, Ace Hood andLil Wayne did their thing. Ross started out doing his single titled Aston Martin Music. Then Ace Hood came out with his street anthem titted Hustle Hard at the end Lil Wayne joined them all on stage to do his verse.
Jill Scott did her thing singing her new single titledRolling Hills. Her show was tight complete with acting by Edris Alba. Alicia Keys tore the house down doing a new song then joining Bruno Mars as she did a few of her classic hits. Beyonce was telecast-ed in from England and her performances was kinds pop-ish and we've kind of seen it all before. Personally speacking Kelly Rowland did the best out of all the ladies. She captured the moment and really let me know that she is a force to be reckoned with. I am so happy for her and the current success she's having.
Now Trey Songs did his thing-putting it down and taking it off for the ladies. I like to see a crooner really work the crowd like they did back in the day. New commer Big Sean did his single titled my last with Chris Brown. I really wasn't feeling his performance. I thought even Chris brown can't help his too laid back delivery. But Chris brown himself stole the show. First he came out with the illest zuit suit I have ever seen, singing his new joint I thought it was you. Then he was accompanied by dancers and he ripped the zuit suit off and started dancing with his crew singing his hit titled look at me now. But it was Busta Rhymes who I thought took over and made this the number one performance.
Other stars included Ledesi, Marsha Ambrosia, Quen Latifah, Snoop Dogg, Warren G, Nelly, Bobby Brown, Jermaine Dupree, Nick Cannon, Willow and Jaden Smith, Cee Lo Green, Patti Labelle and a host of others. All in all the show was pretty good and I thought it showcased black America in a positive light. Until next time have some fun and get something done.
