J. Black's GoalGetta Academy Teen Career Day

J. Black

Last week Akron’s number one motivator and community activist Jamar Blackmon aka “J. Black” held his first GoalGetta Academy Teen Career Day Event. For those that don’t know what the GoalGetta Academy is all about, I will simply say the meaning of the GoalGetta Movement is all in the name itself.

J Black’s mission is to influence people and especially the youth of our community by telling them that setting and reaching goals is essential to positive survival. In simpler terms, setting and reaching goals give an individual focus and purpose. His GoalGetta Academy does this and more with the youth that participate in the academy.

The before mentioned Teen Career Day Event was a full day of classes geared to stimulate and educate the minds of the student that attended. The “dope” thing about the classes was the presenters/educators. J. Black made sure to influence the students with a variety of business owners, entrepreneurs, military servicemen, barbers and more.

In traditional GoalGetta Academy fashion the

students enjoyed a great lunch/meal. Personally speaking, I believe their meals are always home-cooked meals. With that being said the lunch/meal time for the student is always “super dope” and balanced. This event also had many different sponsors and vendors from the community, which made a positive statement that our youth are worth the investment. In closing, J. Black closed out the event with a powerful message geared to motivate and inspire the students. At this time I would like to thank my “brotha” J. Black for all that he does for the youth of our community and for honoring me (for the community media work) that my Mecca Media business is doing in our beloved city. With that being said check out my conversations and vibe session while at the Teen Career Day Event in the video posted below. Until next time, have some fun and get something done.
