Hoop For Coop Review

In honor of the late Kimyata D jr Cooper, "The Hoop For Coop" event hosted by Jerome Moss and Denico Nyrell Buckley Knight was a complete success. Darlene Westry Cooper Beacher the mother of our dearly beloved Kimyata D jr Cooper was in attendance to receive all the love represented for her son. This event was governed by many community leaders who are also representatives of the Bme community. Those who were in attendance are as followed: Willie McGee, Austin Clopton, Pastor Norris, Woo, Jamar Blackmon "The Goal Getta" and Tim Anderson of "The Fallen Fathers Foundation."

This event was a major success as the vendors availed free items that ranged anywhere from water bottles, free health checks, massages, and free haircuts. The event was topped off with a basketball skill, fitness, and training camp for male and female basketball players. Kimyata died playing the sport he loved so much unaware of his own health at the time, so health was magnified throughout the entire event.

Next year I will be looking forward to "The Hoop for Coop" event as well as the youth who was impacted by the presence of all these African American men together who displayed leadership, fatherhood, and an example to the youth that it was someone who cared about their success. Lastly, as a first time visitor to the event, I would like to see the City of Akron get more involved in this event donate funds towards the development of these young children and help promote Kimyata D jr Cooper's cause all around the world.
