Omar and Juan Invites You To Keep It In The Ring

Omar Dawood Jr. & Juam Jones II is Blue Steel Boxing Academy

One of the best things one could do is to help a child. But when it comes to Omar Dawood Jr. and Juan Jones II these two brothers are doing that and more. Omar and Juan are more than your average hard working men. After a hard days work they both "punch" in at their own boxing/training facilities located at 220 S. Balch st. Their gym/brand is called Blue Steel Boxing Academy. The gym and training starts at 5pm-7pm Monday-Friday for children starting at the age of six years old and up.

These brothers offer something that the
Keep It In The Ring
mainstream media rarely tell us about and that's concern black men. They are so concerned about our youth that they're putting their time and efforts where their heart is. For those that say " I can't find anything positive for my children to get into", please check these guys out. As they say, boxing is not only for young boys but little girls as well.

While I was there, I even met a 40 year old man who is benefiting from the cardio work-outs and the training. The facility and training is definitely something that a person entering into their 40's can benefit from.

Sept. 23rd 2017
Now, one thing that we as a community can benefit from is their up-coming event titled "The KEEP IT IN THE RING V amateur boxing show"!  This event will take place at 220 S. Balch st. in Akron Ohio on September 23rd! Doors open at 4:30 and the show/fights will start at 5pm. General Admission is $10.00 and kids 6-1 years old will be only charged $5.00 dollars. The City of Akron, ABA & BSBA are in collaboration on this positive movement! This event is sanctioned by USA Boxing, governing body of Lake Erie Association of Boxing! In-closing, I enjoyed talking with these two dedicated brothers about the boxing legacy that our city truly has. Please take a moment to see my quick interview and conversation with them below. Their passion and insight about their movement is so refreshing that I could hang out with them all day.. Until the next time, have some fun and get something done.
