New Music From Love and Hip Hop's Joseline Hernandez

Every time I  do a review on the VH-1 hit reality show "Love and Hip Hop" I get a lot of feedback on our website ill-board.com. When I do my reviews I usually talk about the wild and crazy antics that occurs often. But when you really take a close look at the stars of the show you will realize that the show has very little Hip Hop and an over the top dose of "love". Let's look at the term Hip Hop as it is truly defined. In simple terms Hip Hop is a culture that comprise of a few elements (Break dancing, mcing or rapping, Dj mixing, Graffitti and now some people would say Fashion). Now, I see myself as a realist. Meaning I take words and their true meaning to heart. Simple put, if one uses the term Hip Hop as it relates to a TV show I'm assuming some part of the culture will be involved. But when you look at Love and Hip Hop Atlanta I really don't see any part of the culture playing the forefront. As for the term love (as it pertains to the VH-1 reality show) it's on full blast. Well- at least the fall out and drama that surrounds the word "Love".
In fact, that's what the show should be called Love and Drama-due to the fact that there's no Hip Hop involved at all. In all honesty I can't be that black and white with it. There is a little Hip Hop in the show. So little allow me to highlight the few. Rasheeda, Joseline Hernandez Lil Scrappy and Benzino are rappers. Stevie J is a producer that (like it or not) has Hip Hop all in his DNA. For the most part everyone else that is considered a regular on the show has nothing to do with the culture. We see how they relate in regards to love relationships with these so-called Hip Hop artists. Almost every time that I do a review, all the feedback that I get is.... where's the Hip Hop in the Love and Hip Hop franchise? Well, this is my shot at answering or at least showcasing some of the Hip Hop music that the show's actors/artists has or have put out.
When we think of Joseline Hernandez music isn't usually the first thing that comes to mind. When I did my homework for this article, I came across a few songs and videos that she put out. I thought maybe some type of completed project would be out by now but not as of yet. The first song and video was titled "Shotz". This song is her attempt at that ever-so POPular Miami dance track vibe that many mainstream artists are going for lately. One of the things that makes her kind of unique- is she often spit her lyrics in her native tongue (Spanish). In regards to this track she often rap about the same (money, drugs and sex) as her male counterparts do. Another song and video is titled "Mi Colta" and the track and production is fire! When the beat drops one would think that Rick Ross is about to start rapping. That's right, this beat sounds just like something that The Maybach mogul himself have handcrafted. The only down part about this song is that Spanish rapping thing again. This time around I think that she has missed the mark. I mean I know that she's "The Puerto Rican Princess" and all but OK already.
All in all, we know some of these reality stars use these type of shows to help launch their careers. As for The Love and Hip Hop cast we know that they can take it to the XXXtreme next level. Until the next time have some fun and get something done.
