It's good to see an artist and or company work a project in the right way. Curtis Jackson A.K.A 50 Cent has a new CD out and it is burning up the charts and streets. Now we need to keep this release in it's proper perspective. One reason to do so is to remind you that 50 Cent really do not have to ever put out anymore music for the rest of his life. We all know the story about how smart of a business man he is. With that being said, with all of his investments and endorsements generating millions upon millions one could see why a new CD would be considered unnecessary. Not only did 50 Cent release his 5th studio album this month but he did it in big fashion and the way it should have been done. In all honesty I believe the way he has promoted this new project should be studied by everyone in the music business especially the independent artists and record companies.
About a week or so ago 50 Cent launched an aggressive promotional radio campaign for his then up-coming new release titled Animal Ambition. As far as the promotion went it was simple. During the Memorial Day weekend he had a different song being played every hour on the hour (with him introducing the record) on various radio stations across the country. Then when I looked up a few new music video to be paired with this article I came across something awesome and fantastic. Every song on the Animal Ambition CD has a music video with it. When I went to 50cent.com I realized that 50 Cent did his due diligence in regards to this new project. I was just telling one of my brothers from Atlanta that if you are going to put out independent music one would need to have music videos from any and every single you're working or promoting. In simple terms, nowadays music is visual and must be presented with a music video so that it can be worked and promoted in cyberspace. The thing that I fine so dope and refreshing is that somebody on the level like 50 Cent would go so far to promote and create all the videos for each song. I mean this is 50 Cent.... everybody knows him right? Of-course but the smart man that he is -he will not leave it to chance that his name alone will carry the project. Like I always say "let his actions be a message and a blue print for success". I mean if he goes hard like that in-regards to promoting and working his new music...who are you not to.
As for his new CD Animal Ambition, it has about 11 or so tracks on it and I believe it's one of his best projects. The first song that I heard was titled Smoke featuring Trey Songz. The track is prefect for that blazing Hip Hop and R&B format. Other tracks like Twisted and Big Rich Town featuring Joe is also hand crafted with the radio and ladies in mind. Now for the real 50 Cent fans, tracks like Don't worry about it, Hold on, Pilot, Chase the paper featuring Prodigy( and new comer Kid Kid) gives them everything that they've been missing. Gangster tales over top notch production made for the streets and the clubs has always been the recipe for success as far as 50 Cent goes. As a whole project Animal Ambition holds it's own when it's compared to its contemporaries. I heard only one song from the entire project that I didn't like and that song was titled Hustler. But the song that took me by surprise was titled Winner's Circle. This song is simply about putting in the hard work and reaping the rewards. I can see this song being the theme song for the NBA Finals sometimes soon. All in all this CD is well worth the time to check out. And from the three songs that I heard from 50 Cent's super group G-unit, you might wanna check that out also. Until next time have some fun and get something done.
