Extra Grams Got Grams?

From time to time a crew comes around that reminds me of why we do music or this business of music in the first place. CEO- Priest Williams and his record company Space Age Music Group is one of those crews that you've got to respect. Since the label's emergence onto the music scene, cities like: Kansas City, New York Miami and Cleveland are all familiar with the labels relentless grind and hustle. Based out of Akron Ohio Space Age Music Group have been putting in work independently for some time now. To date the label has dropped quite a few releases to keep the streets buzzing for more. Some of the labels releases include CD's from the CEO himself a.k.a Mr. One titled:Trap Swag Music. Also a compilation from the label's stable of artists titled: Raining Bricks. And countless singles that can be found on the streets as well as the net via Amazon.com  and iTunes.

When you think about the sound and style of Space Age Music group, the term Trappy music should come to mind. Trappy is defined as flashy and loud. Meaning, If you work-hard grind-hard in order to shine hard then you're trappy. Simply put, you don't have to be a drug dealer or a hustler to have nice things. Trappy is a life style for Mr. One and his entire label of artists-which include: Mr. One himself, Dre D. and Gap. Another stand out artists on the label goes by the name of Extra Grams and he is exactly what the streets are looking for.
Extra Grams who's real name is Marlow Hill has been putting in work for just a few years. Unlike many other rappers that had dreams of making it big in the music business, Extra Grams was not one of those type of day dreamers. Often caught up in the struggle of everyday hood life, this would be rhyme sayer was to busy hustling trying to survive the bleak realities of his community. As far as his music career goes he says he feels that "he is blessed to be in a situation where someone else see's something great in you". Great enough to put up the capital to take Extra Grams and his music to the next level.
The new CD titled Got Grams? by Extra Grams is a 15 track project filled with street, club and trappy hood anthems. When you listen to his lyrical style and flow you can hear the echos of west-coast legends like Ice Cube Eazy E, Spice 1 and E-40. Modern rappers like Gucci Maine and Juciy J has also  influenced him along the way. Speaking of E-40, Extra Grams did a trappy version of one of 40's biggest hits titled Captin Sav'em. Other trappy joints on the CD are titled: White Boyz and International Trappin. The CD also showcase other Space Age Music Group talent such as: Big Face, Gap, Dre D, Real Deal, Latoya Avery, Toyland and the Bay area's own Jay Stallion.  As a rapper Extra Grams is more concerned about people relating to and enjoying his music more than anything right now. He said that he wanted people to know that all these songs were written from the heart as well as experience. So if you like top notch production which includes everything that blazin hip hop and R&B formats are rocking at radio right now- then you will appreciate the beats produced by Mr.One and the lyrical content delivered by the game spitter himself Extra Grams. Remember you can pick up the Got Grams? CD at Amazon.com Itunes and just about everywhere on the web. If you're in Akron Ohio you also can pick it up at 2 Live Music on the city's west side. Don't forget to keep you're ear to the streets for the release party and all things Trappy. Until the next time have some fun and get something done.
