I've been in the music business for many years. I've seen many artists try to emulate other acts on a daily basis. Now as an entertainer or artists I know that ones influence can sometimes shine through ones creativity. Meaning: some artists sound just like the very act that has influenced them over the years. With all due respect, I know these type of artists personally and to their credit they are very talented individuals. But their inspiration often shine through their creativity ultimately smothering the genuine talent that they poses.
One artist that people are talking about in that same fashion is singer, writer and producer Miguel. His debut CD titled "All I Want Is You" was a breath of fresh air. At the time that it hit the streets Blazin R&B was at a blan stand still. In my opinion everybody was starting to sound alike. Now out of respect to Miguel I will not say who he kind of sound like but let's just say the person he sounds like love the COLOR PURPLE. With that being said, he puts his own modern twist or swag to the sound. Making him and his music a breath of fresh air.
Miguel's new CD titled Kaleidoscope Dreams is a collection of abstract tunes that's guaranteed to satisfy any one that loves urban music in general. That's right, Miguel's music often trendsends the boundaries of modern urban music and often goes where no other artist can go. In short, if you like old school R&B, modern R&B and hip hop then you will love Miguel and his latest project.
The CD kicks of with a song titled Don't Look Back. This track is an up grade to the stuff that we've been listening to on the radio everyday. The production has that dramatic feel to it and the lyrics inconjunction with his delivery makes the track appealing to the ladies. The next joint on the project is titled Adorn. This track is the song that everyone has heard or should've heard by now. The production and feel to the track has that retro vibe to it and everybody is loving it. As we speak this song is the hottest song at Adult urban radio across the country and in the top five at Blazin hip hop and R&B formats across the country as well.
The next song is titled Do You and the video is off the hook. If you've never seen Miguel do his thing, then this is the video you need to check out. In short this song and video showcases his artistic style and swagger all at the same time.
