The Streets Are Talking :vol 1

Mc Lyte  will be in Akron Ohio Sept 3rd

Once a month I try to update the ill-board.com nation with what's what in the music industry. For the people that's not familiar with the ill-board.com nation, allow me to break it down for you guy's. Ill-board.com is the Internet home for all things hip hop. You can also find ill-board.com articles in newspapers like Akron Ohio's The Reporter Newspaper. In-short anyone that reads our articles via the newspapers or our blogs are considered the ill-board.com nation. With that being said, keeps us in mind for all the illest music news and reviews anywhere.

Speaking of news, every-body's talking about the MTV Video Awards. So allow me to keep it relevant to our core audience. Of-course the big news from the show was the Beyonc'e performance and announcement. For the two people that don't know Beyonc'e was tearing the stage down during her performance then at the end of her act she dropped the microphone to the floor and opened up her jacket and exposed her then hidden pregnancy. I thought that it was a classy yet brave move to do it in that fashion. On one hand she did it so no rumors could surface, thus putting the media in their place. I loved the move and the reaction of Kanye West and the father to be Jay Z, it was classic.

Speaking of Jay-Z and Kanye West they surprised everybody with a performance. What made it a surprise was-no one knew that they were going to do it. It wasn't promoted or publicize so when they hit the stage performing their hit single titled Ottis, the crowd including myself was surprisingly shocked. Another good performance was by the soul-try singer Adele. She did a song that kinda came off like something John Legend would've done. I love her voice.

Chris Brown did his thing in a big way. I love to see this guy on stage performing. It makes me happy to know that no matter how much bullsh-t a person may go through-GOD can deliver you from it and at the same time put you in a much better place. So when things seems not to be going in your favor just think about how GOD delivered Chris Brown. Always remember: stressing is only temporary and a blessing is legendary.

I like the way MTV showcased comedian Kevin Hart as the unofficial host of the show. This guy is funny and after doing his thing as the host of the B.E.T. Awards earlier this year has put him in the forefront of mainstream Amerca. Hopefully he continues to have the success that he truly deserve. Now when Lil Wayne hit the stage you knew that he was the headliner. Lil Wayne was highly promoted as the featured artist, every hour on the hour-on all of the MTV channels. I thought that this was a good move since his CD came out only a few days after his performance on the show. And as always when an artist perform on these type of shows the sell of their CD goes to through the roof. Hopefully every artists that performed will be blessed in that way.

For those that don't know every year in Akron Ohio we have a Hip Hop festival on main street in the heart of down town. In the past we have had legendary acts to rock the Loc 3 stage like Krs-One, Big Daddy Kane, Whodini, Slum Village, Black Moon's Buck Shot Shorty and The God Mc Rakim. This Saturday Sept 3rd Mc Lyte and EPMD will be coming to rock the loc in front of thousands of positive party goers.
