Every now and then I’ll get someone asking me about the content that we provide here at Mecca Media Entertainment. I always have to remind people that we are the “black” press. It’s then that I’m reminded that some people from our communities don’t know what the responsibility of the “black” press is. For those that are really not sure of what “black” media is all about, I will explain in a very simple way. The Black Media’s responsibility is to simply transmit information that will ultimately help the community with intelligence and self-pride. In other words if you’re listening to your favorite podcast and the personalities on that podcast are talking about things that doesn’t impact or empower the community (in any way) you’re listening to an entertainment program.
With all that being said, we here at Akronhiphop.com love to promote positive dialogue that will enlighten as well as educate the city of BLAkron Ohio. As of late our beloved ancestor Malcolm X has been the talk of the internet. Thanks to a 5 part documentary that can be viewed on Netflix, our brother Malcolm X is at the forefront of the consciousness of urban communities nationwide. Now I’ve heard just about everyone opinion regarding the documentary and all of the new evidence surrounding his untimely assassination. As always I thought it would be great to hear from the consciousness of this area regarding the documentary. With that being said please check out this week’s cypher with our Bro.
