There are many people that we know use to be very popular once upon a time. But the question I ask is -is it possible for a popular person to not be popular anymore? I can answer that question in a few ways. I could say that the only way a person can no longer be popular (would be) he or she would have to move out of the city. Another example would be everyone in that person's generation would have to be extinct.
With that being said for the next month we here at Akron Hip Hop will spotlight some of BLAkron Ohio's legendary people that we still see today but some may not know who that person is to the city. The first legendary person from our community that we will spotlight is professional wrestler Animal.
Animal whose real name is Rodney Haines is the perfect person to kick this spotlight article off. Pretty much everybody from BLAkron that's over 35 years old knows what this brother is all about. Others (from outside his generation) recognize him but can't quite put their finger on who he actually is.
Animal is a bodybuilder who used his assets as a professional bodyguard, security for national recording artists, security for the city of Akron and professional wrestling. Personally speaking, he used to go out on the road with my brother and me as our personal security detail. To catch up on what he's been up to please check out the video posted below.
