It's this time of the year and this so-called holiday (father's Day) that brings out the best in our communities. Some of us will go to church today hoping to hear an inspired message about "the father". Some will go visit that father figure that's been holding them down for years. Other are more fortunate. Simply because their father or father figure lives in the same house that they do.
In any event, this day always made me feel a special kind of way. Not because of the fact that it's "daddy's day". But for the simple fact that our brothers in our communities gets celebrated. When I look on the many different social media outlets all I see is the black father getting celebrated and appreciated. Which inspired me to do this quick daddy's day shout out. This one goes out to every father that is currently on my mind. Be it because I personally know them or just a few minutes ago I saw their post on Facebook.
