Yolonda Shelton of Allegiance Insurance |
It's always good to be reminded that black "entrepreneurial-ism" isn't just a male dominated thing. Many different women have made the move from working for someone to working for themselves. Yolonda Shelton who's from Akron Ohio, is one of those women who believe that working for yourself is always a plus. As the owner of Allegiance Insurance Group (which is located at 680 E.Market St. suite 207 in Akron) Yolonda is a firm believer of educating our people through her services.
While getting ready to do this interview, Yolonda and one of my "Mecca Media" brothers who's name is Bro. Shawn got into a real good conversation. Yolonda was educating him about the importance of getting life insurance at an early age. She said that once we get older it becomes a little more expensive due to many different reasons. One of those reason is "heath". We as a people run the risk of high blood pressure and other things like diabetes- which often make "becoming insured" a little difficult. Which is why I appreciate doing business with someone that really understand our struggles as a people.
By Yolanda being African American herself, puts her at an advantage when it comes to translating the sometimes complicated jargon from the insurance world. I heard her explain why it was so important that we as a people get life insurance-that Bro. Shawn and myself understood every word she said. The most important part that I took from their conversation was...By getting life insurance one can insure that their children can be taken care of.
In-short, most of our people think that others outside of our existence are born into money. Money that's been left from a legacy of successful business and hard work. But in reality, some of those people are just born into money left from a good life insurance policy. With that being said, I think Yolonda and her company is a complete asset to our community and should be treated as such. So if you need any type of insurance don't hesitate to call her at (330) 253-5902. Until next time, Have some fun and get something done.
