Almost every week I have to tell myself, that I need to check out more mix-tapes. In all honesty I'm from an era where mix-tapes didn't exist, let alone serve as interim albums. For the most part, many artists uses the mix-tape format to keep themselves relevant in the marketplace between Cd's. Many of these mix-tapes serves as promotional tools to adequately promote new artists and their music. In-short the mix-tape format is a way to promote your brand without the need of a record company's budget. Most of these mix-tapes always have one or two songs being promoted everywhere with the help of the music video that accompany each of the two songs. These music videos are usually inexpensive to produce and are called guerrilla videos. So with that being said, I have been checking out quite a few mix-tapes and decided to promote one of the most successful ghost writers in the game he goes by the name Consequence a.k.a Cons. His mix-tape is titled Movies On Demand 4 which features artists like Busta Rhymes, John Legend and Estelle. Hopefully with his work on VH-1's reality show "Love and Hip Hop" people will be checking for some of his music as well as the acts that he has penned for.
