   What A Superbowl Sunday. We seen the emergence of Eli Manning as one of the greats and at the same time we've seen the emergence or re-emergence of (no not Madonna) but M.I.A.  Born Mathanj "Maya" Arulpragasam in London, this young lady has become one of the worlds most artistic female artist in sometime. The British born M.I.A is not only a rapper but she is an accredit singer, songwriter, producer, designer and film maker. She started her music career in 2002. In 2004 she landed her first hit records . With about 3 albums to her credit, she has been nominated for a Grammy and Academy Award also the Mercury Prize. One of her biggest hits titled Paper Planes put her on the map in the US. As a result she did a remix version of the track that featured big time US artists like TI, Kanye Weat, Lil Wayne and Jay Z.
  If you really listen to her lyrics and check out the visualizes in her videos you can tell that there's something a litter more to this British artists. Growing up during the Sri Lankan Civil War. Her father, Arul Pragasam, became a founding member of a Tamil separatist group called the Eelam Revolutionary Organization of Students (EROS) which sought to establish an independent Tamil homeland in the northern part of the island nation. While her father was away fighting the good fight, her and the rest of the family fought hard time living in the so-called ghetto of London. As a result both struggles are somewhat a factor in her music and art. Simply put when you see an artist like this you have to tune your ears to what they're really singing or in her case shooting about.

        Now back to what happen during the Madonna halftime performance. Some people don't realize that the super bowl halftime show is the perfect tool to promote what's to come. Hints all the new movie commercials. Anyway this super bowl was the launching pad for Madonna's new music. The song that Madonna performed titled Give me all your love (featured Niki Minaj and M.I.A) was already released along with the music video. Now all the controversy about the middle finger gesture by M.I.A during the super bowl performance is completely out of context. I've heard and read things like M.I.A gave the finger to America. Which is kind of crazy because she lives in Cali. Another thing I've heard is that she really didn't like playing Madonna's cheerleader. WOW!!!!  The truth is, when you look at the music video for the song she did the dam same thing ( gave the finger). Which is simply her bringing the video and all it's glory to the game. In reality I'm pretty sure Madonna herself new about the finger since it's in her new music video. In closing when you get an artist like M.I.A with a little something to say it only take saying nothing to get people to hear you. Until the next time have some fun and get something done.
