Bro. Hiram Akeem & Min. Stephen Muhammad |
During these harsh and crucial times, our community can feel uncertain about health issues, our jobs, and of-course a very bias judicial system. The undisciplined behavior of the policemen that patrol and service our neighborhoods is simply out of bounds. One would think that this current pandemic (that the entire world is collectively enduring) would bring a halt to the massacring of African American males by the hands of local police departments.
A great thing for us here in Akron Ohio, we have a
very active and concerned community. One of those concerned citizens is Student Minister Stephen Muhammad from Akron’s Nation of Islam. Anytime as a “national community” we have a severe and deadly encounter such as what happened to our beloved “brother” Ahmaud Arberry Minister Stephen Muhammad is always on the frontlines here in “BLAkron” Ohio.
Minister Stephen Muhammad stopped by our office to allow us to help get his message to the community. One of the great things about him is he’s always there to give a great word of guidance and upliftment. During our interview (his message) he not only talked about the Ahmaud Arberry situation, but he also touched on the coronavirus, the state of the black male, and more. As a community leader, he has held countless town hall-style meetings, community conversations, and local media messages via The Reporter Newspaper, Mecca Media, and The Akron Beacon Journal.
At this time, we wanna thank Minister Stephen Muhammad for taking the time out of his busy schedule to allow us to help get his words to our city-wide African American community that we call BLAkron Ohio. Please check out his message in the video posted below. Until next time, have some fun and get something done.
