Author Venus Chandler Talks Rape & Prostitution In Her New Book

It's seems like this is the year for BLAkron Ohio's authors to show up and show out. Already, many authors has contacted us regarding the release of their latest book. A few authors would be considered first time authors. In any event, with all of these authors and their perspective releases one can't help but be inspired, motivated and excited.

One of the most telling and powerful books to hit the shelves is authored by Akron native and Central Hower graduate Venus Shontia Chandler.
The name of her empowering book is called A Silent Scream (My Story, My Truth). The book came about as a mission/therapy inspired by her (often times) painful past. During a very bad divorce Venus said that she heard the voice of God and it commanded her to get up and exercise and finish the book she had been procrastinating on. 

Venus began writing about her being raped, prostitution and having to steal food to survive. Enduring a pass that offered so much hardships, one can only be amazed how she ended up transferring all of that negative energy into positivity.
