| CEO/Rapper Lazarus |
When you talk to Lazarus one can't help but understand why he is the leader of the company. His professionalism is a breath of fresh air which is not common regarding how business is done here in Akron. Also the importance of supporting black business is high on the list for this CEO. Which is why it should come to no surprise that his new CD can be picked up at "black owned and operated" 2 Live Music.
Now when it comes to the project "A Beautiful Funeral" let's just say that it's far from what you'd expect from so-called Christian Rap Music. While interviewing Lazarus he said that the importance of making his brand of "Christian Rap" sound more like "street reality music" is to make sure that no-one misses the messages that's being conveyed in the music.
The first music video and single from the project is titled "Stand Up" featuring label mate Dominion. On the track you will hear the two mc's drop knowledge in a way that a simple minded rap fan can grasp. But make no-mistake these lyrics are differently not what is now called "skinny jean" rap. In-fact, the lyrics on the entire project as well as the second single and music video titled "Go Harder" does just that, they go hard.
In-closing, what many have been emailing us
about regarding the state of local rap music has finally become reality. The selling dope. smoking and drinking "thug life" trend has an alternative and that alternative comes in the form of Street Lite Music. Just like the label's name suggest they are truly bringing the "light" to the street. Until next time have some fun and get something done and don't forget to check out the quick interview and his two music videos below.
