I just love this time of the year. Most people would think that I'm talking about x-mas but my true followers or the people that has been checking us out since the days of the record stores and video shows know that I'm talking about the music business. That's right, this is the time of the year that the music business gets in full swing trying to capitalize on the 4th quarter sells also known as x-mas.
Myself, I get excited because as a record store owner it's the time of the year where you don't have to waist to much money on promoting and advertising. Hopefully your shop or store has already did enough advertising during the earlier part of the year to capitalize on all of the promotion that the record companies usually do this time of the year. Now I know that the days of the record/CD store are pretty much coming to a close but there are a few left and I hope that this holiday season you'll get out and support them.
Now-a-days people get their music online or from the internet via their favorite online store or site. Myself, it took me a while but since the launching of our music site ill-board.com I now find promoting music just as exciting as I did back in my record store days especially during this time of the year. Again, record labels are pushing and releasing superstar acts this time of the year so that they can make the most money possible. So with that being said, for the next couple of weeks we here at ill-board.com and The Reporter Newspaper will keep you informed on all the latest and must haves this holiday season.

Many people have been waiting on Brandy's new CD for a while but with the release of her new CD titledTwo Eleven I think that some casual listener will have a slight problem with the project. As a true fan of Brandy and all of her incredible talents I think her fan base will enjoy this new installment to her legacy. So if you have some one on your list that like her music then you won't go wrong. Another hot release from another beautifully talented lady is from Alicia Keys with her new CD titled Girl On Fire is burning up the charts and airwaves. Alicia Keys music has always been for (what I like to call) mature ears. Meaning her music kind of verge on the adult contemporary side at times. But when you have a star of this magnitude you have to have some cross over marketing so that you as a record company can generate as much interest as possible for her release. All in all if you like Alicia's vibe on the lead single that's burning up the radio titled Girl On Fire then put this CD on your wish list.
