Councilwoman Tara Samples |
To date gun violence has increased by 37% nationwide. Here in the City of Akron, we are experiencing gun violence and death of young people at a staggering rate. We should not be burying babies due to senseless shootings. When will the gun violence end so the healing can begin? We must find real solutions to address and solve gun violence in our community. We have to be the keeper of our village. Our village is out of control. We have to speak up and speak out. Do not wait until it affects you personally to want action.
We want action now. We want our babies to be able to play outside and not worry about being hit by a faceless bullet. We want our parents and grandparents to sit on their front porch on a warm sunny day without worry of a bullet coming their way. But it only happens if WE as a community make it happen. PUT THE GUNS DOWN. Our lives depend on it! Check out Our interview with the councilwoman below-Hiram Akeem
