We here at Akronhiphop/Mecca Media Entertainment recognizes the importance of a local music scene. Here in Akron Ohio, the independent music scene is alive and well. For years we've been in the business of promoting the many rap artists, their local record companies, and the music they release.

With that being said we are now transitioning our platform to reflect a more national "independent" music scene. In short, our monthly "Akron Rap Chart" we showcase not only Akron's local rap artists but independent rappers from around the country as well

Conscious Village/Truth Be Told Radio co-host "Big Ra" will be hosting our monthly "Akron Rap Chart Vlog/Show. The vlog is designed to highlight only 5 of the top 10 music videos on the chart. The vlog will be shared on our YouTube Channel, Facebook page, and Akronhiphop.com. Big Ra is a perfect fit for our new look rap chart and monthly vlog. His experience as a music producer, artist, and podcast host further illustrates why he's an authority on independent rap music.
