Keeping Kids Busy With Karate & Inspiration

When talking about our children or the community's youth, many people often say that theirs nothing for them to do. Recently this issue reared it's ugly head once again in the form of a community meeting on Akron's west-side. During that meeting, I was hearing over and over again that the youth/children have nothing to do or nowhere to go and be positively active.

For those that don't know there's definitely a few things for your children to do. The American Karate Academy of Akron located 739 N.Main St. Akron Ohio 44310 is one of those things. Talking to the owner and instructor Lee Harris, he said that participating in the martial arts is a great way to spend/invest some time. While I was in the building watching brother Lee do his thing I thought that his class/services would be a great way for the children from our community to spend some time after school. 

During my interview with brother Lee, I found out
more information about the martial arts and it's connection to our African culture. One of the best things about The American Karate Academy Of Akron is that fact that its instructor has the patience of a saint (which I noticed while watching him work with what seemed to be a 4year old).
