Akron Rapper: Maffi |
At what point did you notice when the rap game got watered down? Why is everybody a rapper now? Because music nowadays gives the listener the impression that they can do it when they see a artist with no talent strike it rich. It's no such thing as a fan anymore they're in the game competing with you now. We in the era that glorifies being a junky, men in women clothes are accepted, and niggaz snitching on themselves in YouTube videos is the thing to do. Just because you sold some dope, carry a pistol with money in your pocket doesn't mean you're a dope rapper, it means you're a good street nigga.
Now If you live what you rap and the music is dope I respect it, but if that shit is garbage just write a book my G. You don't need talent or bars anymore to make it all about a gimmick now. Punchlines, metaphors, and concepts don't exist . I'm from the era where you had to be dope or nobody from your section would get behind you. I find myself kicking it to some of this goofy music because I hear it 20 times a day on the radio, it's like this trash is hypnotizing. Ask somebody 25 or under their top 5 rappers list today and it might piss you off or make you laugh.
In my opinion niggaz need to tighten up and put time and thought into their music, and the consumer should be honest if they hear shit that's trash. With that being said I salute the dope artists out here today keep it pushing and hopefully you can find your way through this overcrowded game.
