Everybody is talking about the movie titled Get Out. Of-course it's the nation's number one movie this week. One of the things that I liked most about the film was it's brutal honesty. I loved how it touched on the pulse of the nation as it pertains to racism. The fact that it was a horror film made it that much "realer" for me.
Last week my daughter texted me the name of a song for me to check out. Now usually she knows exactly what type of music her father really enjoys. But in all honesty I never got around to checking it out. Fast forward to this past weekend. My queen and I went to see the before mentioned movie "Get Out" and during the opening scene one of the hottest tracks that I've ever heard was playing full blast. I thought and told my queen "that this song is crazy".
To make a long story short, I was putting the finishing touches on The Reporter Newspaper's music chart for the week and I noticed the same song my daughter texted me was on the billboard charts at number 11 with a bullet. I thought, well let me check this out. To my surprise it was the same song that was playing during the opening scene of the movie. I was like "wow" my daughter really knows my style and flavor.
