| Joe Buddens and Cons |
This season's Love and Hip Hop has some interesting themes and situations. The first thing that I find interesting on the show is the relationship between rapper Consequence (Cons) and his girlfriend Jen the pen. Cons is what the music industry calls a ghost writer. Which means, he has written the lyrics to some of the industry's biggest hits (most of the time without getting the credit). His girlfriend Jen has had jobs on internet radio and she also has her on blog site. Continuing with what makes this couple interesting is he's African American and she's a white girl with a little urban sizzle. Also he's a Muslim and she was raised as a Christian. And to make things a little more interesting they're not married and have a son together.
One of the things that makes this show seems a little more realer this season, is the conflict that these two have in-regards to raising their son. Cons want to raise his son with Islamic values and Jen would like to see her son enjoy some of the so-called traditional holiday's like X-mas and Easter. I love to see the passion that these two share in-regards to their son. But even more I love to see Cons (as a father) putting in the work by being their making sure his son knows that daddy cares. Also I got to give Cons a shout in-regards to dealing with his girl (Jen) with the patients and love that it takes to get her to understand Islam.
When you look at reality shows it's clear that most of the story lines are scripted meaning, producers set up the situations and the actors try to naturally act it out. As in the case of Joe Buddens and Tihary another couple on the same show. In this situation Joe Buddens is a rap artists whom been in the business for sometime now. His very publicized on and off again relationship via various social media sites has no-doubt landed them on this season of Love and Hip Hop. To bring you up to speed as it pertains to their so-called relationship "it's suppose to be over". But for the sake of the show, a story line has been created to make them deal with each other on a more personal level. To make things even more spicier, Joe has a girlfriend that he is suppose to be in love with. One of the things that bothers people about his situation on the show is how his mother is still dealing with Tihary his so-called X. That's right, his mother has an
active life with his X girl while he suppose to be with another girl. Now for the sake of this story line, I can't be mad at it. This is clearly reality TV or should I say scripted TV at work, so when you follow some of these story lines during this season Love and Hip Hop on VH1 remember it's only entertainment.
