Last year the city promoted an event that took place on the corner of Copley Rd and Hawkins. In short, the event was called “Better Block” and it was designed to paint a positive picture of the business community with the hopes of attracting future small business owners and entrepreneurs.
Hairstylist, business owner, and Akron native Fannette Morris
was inspired to return back home and invest in the community from which she
came from. The investment that I’m talking about is in the same neighborhood that
the better block event was held. Specifically speaking her contribution to the
re-imaged area is a hair studio/salon that she calls Why Not Your Hair located
at 1340 Copley rd which will have its official grand opening on Tuesday 1/28/20
from 11am -2pm.
Returning from Atlanta to reinvest in her childhood community
is paramount to her. Her studio and her personal mission are to mentally invest
in our community’s young ladies by empowering them to love themselves just the
way God has made them. This she intends to do so by educating the mindset of the
sistas who believe that they look ‘waaaay” better with their real hair being unseen
via weaves and perms. With that being said please check out our visit and vibe
