Sometimes we come across a person/people that shines a little brighter than most. When it comes to shining my brotha/movie director Maurice Thomas a.k.a J. Star is definitely one of those people. J. Star is considered Akron’s trendsetter when it comes to directing music videos for Akron’s early movers and shakers. As a trendsetter, J. Star has always been at the forefront of the city’s independent music movement.
As a movie director, he has quite a few titles to his name. As a brand (pertaining to his film company) he goes by the name of Ghetto Hollywood Films. One of the dopest things about my brotha is he’s one of the most professional people that you would want to do business with.

Recently J. Star opened up his very first retail operation and he’s calling it “Haze Herbal & Hydro" (Smoke Shop) located in Barberton Ohio at 240th 5th Street 44203. The great thing about this move for the movie director was capitalizing on what is considered a growing market thus putting him in the driver’s seat of success. Recently I paid my brotha a visit at his spot and realized that he had a hookah lounge connected to his smoke shop! I was very excited about the possible success that he and his Queen/partner are in the position to receive. Until next time, have some fun and get something done.
