Akron Rappers Talks About Nipsey's Death

Rapper: Nipsey Hussle
When tragedy strikes our community, it feels like it is the first time. Some tragedies are so hard to deal with that we need to talk to someone to figure things out. As you should already know on March 31st, tragedy reared its ugly head in the form of a senseless murder of one of our brightest stars in the hip hop world. West Coast rapper, Nipsey Hussle was the latest victim of gun violence. When a tragedy comes out of nowhere, it often leaves the black community looking for answers.

Here in BLAkron, Ohio the pain came double fold as we lost a member of our local hip hop community here as well. With that being said we here at AkronHipHop.com along with the Reporter Newspaper decided to try to make sense of Nipsey Hussle’s and DB-4-TV senseless murders. We put the call out to some of BLAkron’s top hip hop artists and community activists in an effort to create a dialogue and put forth some proper understanding of what just happened. I personally had conversations with local rappers like Ampichino, King locust and Chey Dolla all of which felt bad for the late rapper's family. Quite a few rappers were in town and decided to stop by the green room for some kind yet uplifting words.

At this point and time recognizing the importance of an establishment like the Reporter Newspaper
Akron Rapper: Chey Dolla
is key for us to get an authentic narrative, from our perspective, of all the news being reported. Myself, personally I have decided to pick up the torch and continue to help the Reporter Newspaper report our stories. At this time, I want to thank all of the people who came on such short notice and expressed their concerns regarding the pain the community is feeling as a whole.
Posted below are videos of those conversations that I had with some of Akron’s most popular rap artists and community activists. Until next time, have some fun and get something done…
