West-Side BLAkron, Ohio... BAM!!!!! The smell of Bar-B-Que sauce hits my nostril passages along with the scents of CHICKEN, BURGERS and FRIES! I tell myself, "HELL NAW! not right here in Da'Middle of Da'HOOD! (the corner of Thornton St. and Mueller St.) But YES! right here in Da'Hood a Chicken-Shack (well not really a shack) but a Winnebago\Camper hitched to a pickup truck.
It's LUCAS FOOD LLC a black owned and operated food truck selling grilled B.B.Q. sandwiches and great meal deals. And I mean GREAT deals too. From a single $1 burger to $7 dollar rib dinners and everything in between (wing dings, fries, chili dogs, sloppy joes and even a dam turkey burger!) All meal deals come with a side dish (fries or slaw), chips and a pop.
This food truck is owned and operated by Mr. Marquis Lucas a young black entrepreneur born and raised on the west side of BLAkron Ohio (Akron Ohio). And what makes this food truck extra special besides "its black owned" is, it's simple location smack dab in the middle of Thornton St. which is definitely Da'Hood! But once you smell and taste the food from this food truck- Well then this known HOOD becomes as beautiful as a Rose growing out of the concrete.

customer walking away with handfuls of this tasty food with huge smiles. One customer happen to be Mrs.Tricia Lucas herself, the mother of the owner. She ordered and paid for a burger. When I asked her why she paid her reply was very simple, truthful and loving. She said, "Because I'm not just his MOM I'm also a satisfied customer!"
