Recently local rapper Flamez OhGod and his Strictly Street team held it's first annual Akron Music Fest. The show/festival was held at The Vortex Nightclub in Akron Ohio. Talking to Flamez business partner (Taron) I began to understand how important this event was. They had vending in and outside the building which helped pushed that entire festival vibe.
When it comes to the event itself, Flamez said it was to raise awareness regarding all of this senseless violence that seems to have perforated our community. Rappers from all over Akron's musical terrain were in attendance. I saw legendary rappers like Osama Bin Pimpin and freestyle fanatic Jaz Naz T (from the Voodoo days) to current female MC's Like Emerald, Murda J, and Tab G.
