For those that don’t know, we here at Akronhiphop and Mecca Media Entertainment enjoy introducing all of the great things that make the ‘black/African American experience so “dope” here in our beloved city of Akron Ohio (which we call BLAkron Ohio). From the many different personalities, organizations and black-owned businesses BLAkron Ohio is more than just a small Midwestern town.
That big city mentality is ever-growing around these parts. Regarding that “big city mentality” Nephews Restaurant which is located on Akron’s west side at 1675 Diangonal Rd. What makes this eatery so special (this Valentine's Day)is the chef himself who goes by the name of Chef D. This restaurant has everything one would come to expect from a “soul food’ carry-out.
What most people don’t know is Chef D is willing to go off-menu and create some of the best tasting-5 star meals right there in the heart of BLAkron Ohio. Recently I was invited to watch the chef put together what he called “a seafood boil”. All Ima say is, I can’t believe someone just asked for it and he made it happen with no problem. The great thing about my current visit is I had the camera rolling capturing the whole thing. With that being said check out Chef D as he does his thing in the video posted below.
